General Monthly meetings are held on the first Thursday **(February 2018 meeting will be held on the second Thursday due to scheduling conflicts)** of each month at the Redpoll Center located upstairs at Shell Place. (Use the Box Office entrance) The meetings commence at 7:30pm (1930hrs). The agenda for the meeting is general SAR business preceded by a training topic.

Required Equipment

24 Hour Pack

The 24 Hour Pack is the basic search pack. This pack is what you will need to carry on all searches and should contain enough supplies to keep you self sufficient for a 24 hour period. Each member of the team will build a pack based on there own needs, during training you will get a better understanding of what this kit should include but below is a list of some items that must always be carried.

  • Compass
  • Flashlight or Headlamp
  • Water – 2 Liters
  • Knife
  • First Aid Kit
  • Fire Starter
  • Food
  • Whistle
  • Shelter Material
  • Toilet Paper

72 Hour Pack

The 72 Hour Pack is an expanded version of the 24 Hour Pack. This Pack should include all the supplies to keep you self sufficient for a period of 72 hours. This pack would be brought on searches involving helicopters because of the high chance that weather will cause extraction to be delayed. As well as on searches were the search area is in a remote location as is with quad or sled access.

  • Additional Food
  • Water Purification or increased water
  • Cook kit
  • Better Shelter
  • Change of Clothing
  • Sleeping System
